Evolution confusion about mutations?

Even uming that mutations occur at the same rate in all species, those with larger numbers of offspring and more frequent production of descendants will have larger numbers of mutations. Mice, for example, reproduce about every 3 months with a litter of 10-12, whereas people have one (usually) child no oftener than every 9 months. Bacteria may reproduce every 20 minutes.
