Help with feeding my 4 day old baby please!?

the doctor told me to feed every two hours. but in between feedings my baby was still looking for something to suck on so i gave him a pacifier. now he cries to eat and only sucks for about 5 minutes and lets go and falls asleep and he wont latch on after that. then he cries 30 minutes later to eat! what should i do? is this normal? should i try to pump and give him a bottle?
