I cn't publish my file into a wmv/wma. Do i need to redo evrythng onto the XP movie maker?or convert is pssb?

I need a freeware to convert my movie maker vista into a movie maker XP. mind that publishing and then reading with windows media player is not an option. publishing doesn't work.
